Red Tide in Florida
The Florida Aquarium enables you to get up close to many of Florida’s aquatic and terrestrial animals and ecosystems, as well as others from around the world. More than a must-see attraction, we are working to protect and restore our blue planet on many conservation fronts, including research and rescue efforts that help restore Florida’s sea turtle and coral populations and to ensure that sharks continue to swim our seas.
The Aquarium has educated more than 1.5 million students and rescued hundreds of animals since opening.
We care deeply about our animal family and hope you connect with them too.
The Florida Aquarium is the perfect place for your next event. Check out our delicious menus and incredible settings!
The Florida Aquarium actively participates in and promotes stewardship of the natural environment as part of our mission of conservation.
We are all connected to the big blue ocean. The Florida Aquarium team believes we can and must turn the tide on the threats now facing her.
Our efforts focus on coral reefs, sea turtles and sharks found in our blue backyard —Tampa Bay, The Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Keys and Cuba. Through scientific diving, research and rescue efforts, we are helping to restore Florida’s disappearing coral reefs, rehabilitating and returning sea turtles to the ocean, and addressing the dwindling sand tiger shark populations. And that’s just for starters … there’s so much more, from educating and inspiring our community about conservation action to supporting swallow-tailed kite population research, African penguin nesting in South Africa, and Lemur conservation in Madagascar. We are working passionately every day to protect and restore our blue planet.
